I have this installed on a 2 5/16" hitch, on a high quality, 10,000lbs. gvw, enclosed trailer. Item is as described, and the mechanism uses both 1/8 and 1/4" thick plate metal at various points. The welds and coating are acceptable, and the item is easy to install with the provided instructions. The tongue on my trailer is stout, and has a hump directly before the coupler. Overall, I think this provides the best security for this type of coupler on a trailer, and the rubber protective boot is nice for added weather protection.

This lock is sturdy. The directions were easy to figure out and install. Now that my camper is parked, I feel much better that it is locked securely.
